Ugly American: Update!

I have an update on an earlier post "Ugly American." In this post, I debated between which photo to use for my new passport - one where I looked doped up loser vs. one with psycho eyes. I ultimately chose the psycho-eyed photo cause my hair looked better.

Anyway, I recently used my new passport for the first time to get a Visa for Brazil, and I was rejected! The official word is I didn't fill in one of the blanks on the on-line form. Maybe. It could also be the psycho eyes.

There wasn't time to resubmit, so I had to cancel the trip. I am hopefully going to reschedule in a month or two. We'll see then if it was the form or the eyes. Stay tuned!

I was meeting friends out. I cam in with one younger friend, who got carded, then me. I asked if they carded everyone. He said no, "only people I think could be in their 20's". Oh happy day!

I was traveling for work, and I was told this was a good brewpub. The food was okay, the beer was good, but the highlight was getting carded and getting a "I thought you could be close enough to check, hon." Yep, sometimes I miss living in the South.

I was carded getting beer before the Weezer show. I didn't ask, but I thought they were carding everyone, until my friend Anne (who is younger than me) didn't get carded. It's a bit grey (like me), but I am going to say this one counts.

Was carded by the waitress before going to see "Tron: Legacy" on opening night (judge me if you must; I don't care). I checked to see if she carded everyone; she said she thought I could have been close. The streak continues....

I asked and I was told that she was not checking everyone. She thought I could be close to 21, but I think she was being nice. It was Friday and I think she read the stress, and I think she was doing this to be nice.
